The RP-S505 is 35% more powerful than its predecessor but weighs much less. The total weight when connected to the Power Unit and fully operational is only 14.4 kg (31.7 lbs). The new ergonomically designed Awethumb™ controller (patent pending) allows easy direction control with the thumb when the handle is in the standard position. Furthermore, the detachable Alligator Tips™ (patent pending) provided as standard can easily grip convex surfaces such as fenders for crushing/squeezing.

Ogura's new face of rescue the RP-R370 rescue ram is extremely light and powerful with enough force for pushing and holding a crushed vehicle frame. The two optional extension rods 200 mm (7.9 in) and 450 mm (17.7 in) allow for different rescue situations. The optional claw used for flat surface can also serve to safely support the ram in many situations while the detachable four fingers claws provided as standard are ideal for gripping pillars. As the ram can fully support the pushing force even after the Power Unit is removed, it is possible to remove the Power Unit leaving the ram in place and connect the power unit to other heads for the next operation.

This compact and powerful Power Unit is used to operate all the Heads of the RP series! It is not necessary to disengage the Head from the work or return oil in the Head to the tank. The RP-M18V Power Unit can be removed from the tool at any time from any position! A twin LED lamp with afterglow is positioned so that the operating area can be clearly seen at night. The Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) gives enhanced dust and drip-resistant performance when operating outdoor and in harsh environments. The quick connect coupling can be rotated through 360 degrees for optimum positioning of the tool, and for quick and safe head changes. The RP-M18V Power Unit uses the widely available Makita 18V Li-ion battery.
